Rachel Pearlstein, MSW, LCSWA

Hello and welcome! My name is Rachel, and as a therapist, I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space grounded in trust where you can work through whatever may be holding you back from living the life you hope for. I use evidence-based approaches such as psychodynamic and attachment-oriented therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic therapy to support you on your path. I am also a trained yoga teacher (RYT-500) and integrate somatic tools from my yoga background into sessions when it may be helpful to the therapeutic process.

I work with adults navigating CPTSD and the impacts of childhood trauma, including emotional neglect, attachment wounds, sexual trauma, and religious trauma, as well as the effects of growing up in families with substance abuse or mental illness. I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, dissociation, relationship challenges, and addiction. I am LGBTQ+ celebratory and committed to trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

If you are struggling or suffering, you have a place here. I look forward to working together to help you live a fuller, more connected life.

What I Offer

How I Work

I take a trauma-informed, no-judgment approach that blends inner child work, parts work (IFS-inspired), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a lot of plain old real talk. I’ll challenge you when you need it and sit quietly with you when things get heavy.

You don’t need to have the perfect words or a polished story when you show up. You just need to be willing to be honest — even if that honesty sounds like, “I don’t know where to start.”

Who I Work With

I work with adults who are tired of pretending everything’s fine when it isn’t — people unpacking religious trauma, childhood wounds, ADHD struggles, or that deep sense of “I should be further along by now.”

If you’ve ever felt disconnected from yourself, burnt out from being “the strong one,” or frustrated that your brain doesn’t seem to work like everyone else’s — you’re in the right place.

What It's Like To Work Together

Therapy with me is collaborative, casual, and deeply human. I’ll hold space for your story, but I’ll also help you look at it with new eyes. We’ll explore how old patterns show up in your present life and experiment with new ways of being — not overnight fixes, but slow, steady healing that actually sticks.

You can expect equal parts depth and humor, reflection and realness. We’ll laugh sometimes, cry sometimes, and slowly build a relationship that helps you feel safe enough to change.
